The Peacock series adds three to leave ‘based on a true story’

Peacock’s upcoming comedy-thriller series “Based on a True Story” has added three new cast members. Difference He learned alone.

Tom Bateman (“Thirteen Lives,” “Behind Her Eyes”), Leanna Liberato (“Scream 6,” “To the Bone”), and Priscilla Quintana (“Good Trouble”) joined the show as series regulars. They will star alongside previously announced cast members Kaley Cuoco and Chris Messina.

According to the official blurb, the series is “about a realtor, plumber, and former tennis star whose lives suddenly collide to expose America’s obsession with true crime, murder, and the slow toilet seat.” It was previously revealed that Cuoco will play a married woman named Ava Bartlett, while Messina will play a character named Nathan. All other character details are under wraps.

Bateman was joined by CAA, United Agents of the United Kingdom and attorney Patty Felker. Liberato is supported by Entertainment 360 and Creative Artists. Quintana is repped by SDB Partners, LINK Entertainment and Hansen Jacobson.

Craig Rosenberg serves as writer, executive producer and showrunner on the “based on a true story.” Jason Bateman and Michael Costigan will produce at Aggregate Films, with Roxy Rodriguez of Aggregate and Melissa Blake co-producing. Alex Buono directs the first episode and serves as executive director. UCP is a studio.

“Based on a true story” was given a straight-to-series order in April. It’s one of the latest additions to Peacock’s growing list of true crime projects, which include “Dr. Death, as well as “Joe v. Carole” and the recently launched “Family Friend”.
