SPOILER ALERT: If you haven’t watched “The Masked Singer,” Season 8, Episode 9, “Fright Night,” which aired Nov. 23 on Fox, don’t read ahead.
Maybe the “Masked Singer” judges are finally finding out that this year’s episode themes will reference the week’s new hidden celebrity contestants. Tonight’s Wednesday episode is titled “Fright Night,” so who’s calling? “Ghostbusters” singer Ray Parker, Jr., of course. And who can hide on stage? “Explainer” star Linda Blair.
That’s right, for the episodes, Parker, Jr. and Blair were the next stars to be uncovered.
Blair, as the Scarecrow, shocked host Nick Cannon and the audience by voluntarily removing the mask and allowing the other two contestants to move on to the next week. “I really like this show,” she said. “I’m here to share how much I love you and what you all have done for the world and family entertainment. But I want to officially take a bow and take off the mask and let these two amazing contestants continue. These two contestants are the real deal. I’m here to tease Kane.” [Jeong]. I have a really special reason for living here. And I want them to enjoy the stage and all the accolades they deserve. I’ve had the pleasure of entertaining you over the years.”
Later, Parker, Jr., is revealed as Sir Bugaboo after facing off against the victorious Snowworm in a battle royale (the two take turns singing Rockwell’s “The Man Who Sees Me”). Blizzard advances to the semi-finals.
No one really got it for the Scarecrow. Robin Thicke thought it was Susan Sarandon. Jenny McCarthy-Wahlberg Close Glenn. Nicole Scherzinger chooses Jamie Lee Curtis. Ken Jeong guessed Parker Posey.
For Sir Bugaboo, Jenny McCarthy Wahlberg impersonated Ernie Hudson. Robin Thicke picks Keenan Ivory Wayans. Nicole Scherzinger thought it was Randy Jackson. Ken Jeong said Jordan Peele.

“The Masked Singer” adopted a new “King or Queen of the Masked Singer” format, so multiple eliminations in one episode were common during this period. This season, three or four costumed celebrities perform each week, but only one wins and competes against two or three more next week.
This will continue throughout the season, as after each round three finalists will compete in the semi-finals. Bekan is the first to survive the 1st round and enter the semi-finals, while Gugu is the first to win the 2nd round and is in the semi-finals.
