“The Crown” Season 5 took the throne at No. 1 on Netflix’s Top 10 English-language TV chart this week during its November 7-13 viewing window. According to streaming figures, the show’s fifth season has been watched for 107.39 million hours since its Nov. 9 premiere, and is in the top 10 in 88 countries.
The show also reached number 1 in 37 countries including the UK, US, Canada, Australia, Germany, Italy and France.
Created and written by Peter Morgan, the latest installment of the British drama about the royal family stars Imelda Staunton, Jonathan Pryce, Elizabeth Debicki and Dominic West in a new play as they cover their turbulent marriages, infidelity and divorce. Prince Charles and Princess Diana.
Following the death of Queen Elizabeth II on 8 September, the series spent several weeks in the top 10. The first season starring Claire Foy cracked the list at No. 7 in the September 5-11 viewing window.
According to Overnights.tv, the show attracted 1.1 million viewers on its first day. The number counts people who watched at least one episode of the latest episode on Netflix in the UK at around 8 p.m. The statistics do not include those who watched the series from a laptop, tablet or mobile.
Coming second is “Revelation” Chapter 4. The first episode of the series’ final season garnered 74.78 million hours in its first week on the streamer. Meanwhile, season 1 of the supernatural drama continued its run in the top 10 with 41.99 million hours watched. “Manifest” Season 2 also ranked ninth with 18.2 million hours watched.
“Love Is Blind” Season 3, added on November 9, jumped to No. 3 after the 11-12 episode premiere with 47.25 million hours watched. Episodes 8-10 have been watched over a million hours since its November 2 airing, which could make the show even bigger in numbers.
The limited series “From Scratch,” based on Thembi Locke’s book of the same name, suffered another failure on the chart, however, ranking at No.5. The Italian romance starring Zoe Saldaña was watched for 31.3 million hours during the premiere. Window – another drop compared to last weeks numbers of 50.5 million and 72 million.
Season 2 of “Warrior Now” ranked No. 6 on the list with 26.2 million hours watched since its Nov. 10 premiere. The new season will follow Ava (Alba Baptista) and the OCS sister warriors as they search for a way to defeat the angel Adriel (William Miller) as they seek to build his followers into a major religion on the planet.
As the holiday season approaches, it looks like October’s Halloween thrillers are on the way out. “Inside Man” season 1 drops to number 7. The four-part BBC drama, directed by Stanley Tucci, clocked 24.97 million hours in its second week on the stream, a dramatic drop from last week’s No.2 position. No. 52.9 million
Ryan Murphy’s “Monster” did not make Netflix’s top 10 chart for the first week since its release. The Jeffrey Dahmer biopic starring Evan Peters finished its seven-week run in the Oct. 31-Nov. 6 viewing window, with 28.3 million hours as the final tally. Although “The Watcher” Season 1 is ranked eighth on the list with 18.85 million hours watched.
At No. 10, Guillermo del Toro’s “Cabinet of Curiosities” earned 18.17 million hours in its second full week.
