“Heartstopper” star Joe Locke has signed with CAA to represent in all areas.
The British actor recently starred in Charlie’s Netflix series “Heartstopper,” which premiered earlier this year and was quickly renewed for two more seasons by the streamer.
Based on the webcomic and graphic novel of the same name, the show is about a gay teenager (played by Locke) who falls in love with his popular classmate, played by Keith Connor. Season 2 is currently in production in the UK as previously reported.
Locke, a newcomer, won the role through an open casting call from a pool of more than 10,000 actors. His performance earned him nominations for Rising Star at the National Television Awards and Outstanding Lead Performance at the Children’s and Family Emmy Awards.
The actor will star opposite Kathryn Hahn in the upcoming “Wandavision” spin-off series “Agatha: Coven of Chaos” for Marvel and Disney+. As is typical of most Marvel shows and movies, Locke is a closely guarded secret, including the character he plays. Emma Caulfield Ford is set to reprise her role as Dottie from “WandaVision” in the new series.
On stage, Locke made his professional theater debut in August starring in “The Trials” directed by Natalie Abraham at the Donmar Warehouse. He has also worked with the Gaiety Theater and Kensington Arts Center Youth Group, as well as 2020 National Theater Connections.
Locke continues to be represented by Richard Gibb of Markham, Froggatt & Irwin and Prosper PR in the UK and attorney Shelby Weiser of Sloane, Offer, Weber & Dern.
