HBO’s ‘SHAQ’ documentary results for the first day of November

HBO’s upcoming documentary on Shaquille O’Neal has been given a Nov. 23 premiere date. Difference Learned.

The four-part docuseries will run for four weeks, with new episodes airing every Wednesday at 9 pm ET/PT on HBO. Viewers can also stream on HBO Max.

From director Robert Alexander, “Shaq” details the life of legendary Lakers champion O’Neal from sports phenomenon to cultural figure. On HBO, the documentary chronicles “Shaq’s rise to superstardom, winning four NBA championships, league MVP and becoming a dominant force that changed the game.” It covers his life off the court, from growing up in a military family to his deep personal relationships and rich career in broadcasting and business.

“We made this documentary from the ground up, and I feel like it’s the most honest look at my life and career to this point. This process has allowed me to reflect publicly in a way I never have before, and I’m so proud of the work everyone did to bring it all together,” O’Neill said in a statement.

Penny Hardaway, Dwyane Wade, Dennis Scott, Brian Shaw, Derek Fisher and Rick Fox feature interviews with former head coaches Phil Jackson and Pat Riley, as well as former Los Angeles Lakers general manager Jerry West. Members of O’Neill’s family — his mother, Dr. Lucille O’Neill, his siblings, Jamal and Latifah Harrison, and his children, Tahirah, Sharif and Miles — are also featured in the documents.

The exclusive clip premieres tonight on TNT’s “Inside the NBA.”

In addition to directing, Alexander stars alongside Peter Berg, Matthew Goldberg, Brandon Carroll, Mike Parris, Perry Rogers, Colin Smeaton. Nancy Abraham, Lisa Heller and Bentley Weiner executive produce for HBO with executive producer Abtin Motia. The series is produced by Keti Murakami. Peter Berg’s Film 45 Productions, Jersey Legends and Hardware Studios are behind the production.
