eBay Bans Jeffrey Dahmer’s Halloween Costume Amid Netflix Monster Storm

Jeffrey Dahmer costume listings on eBay.com are trending this Halloween. The popular e-commerce site has banned Dahmer’s clothing because it violates its policy against violent and violent criminals, Buzzfeed News has confirmed. Evan Peters, who stars as serial killer Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story in Ryan Murphy’s blockbuster Netflix series, hit the web to find Dahmer-related costumes.

As reported by BuzzFeed: “A spokesperson confirmed that the marketplace is actively removing these listings and that they are ‘banned,’ although some listings are still active at the time of publication… Company policy states that sellers are prohibited from listing items.” ‘Promotion or glorification of violence’ or violent individuals, acts of celebrity or crime scenes associated with the past 100 years.

Difference eBay representatives have been reached for further comment.

Dahmer’s interest has skyrocketed thanks to Netflix’s “Monster,” now “Stranger Things 4,” the streamer’s most-watched English-language original series. The series has earned well over 700 million watch hours since its September 21 premiere.

One Dahmer-related costume on eBay related to the Netflix series was a mask worn by Dahmer’s character actor Evan Peters.

Between 1978 and 1991, Dahmer killed and dismembered 17 people. The victims are all boys or men. The Netflix series has received backlash from many family members of Dahmer’s real-life victims. Shirley Hughes, whose son was killed by Dahmer in 1991, recently told TMZ that it’s “evil” that people want to dress up as Dahmer because of the popularity of the Netflix series. She added that if Netflix didn’t release the series, there would be no Dahmer costumes this year.

“Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story” is now streaming in its entirety on Netflix.
