Season 2 of Pate Oud Albano and Dimitri Rassam is expanding their media company with Disney+ with two returning series on the “Three Musketeers” franchise.
The two production banners are in advanced development with Alexandre de la Patelliere and Mathieu Delaporte’s Fargo Films on both shows “Mistress Origins” and “Black Musketeer.”
These will spin off the epic saga of Pate and Chapter 2, a two-part adventure written by De La Patellier and Delaporte based on Alexandre Dumas’ masterpiece. The two films, “The Three Musketeers – D’Artagnan” and “The Three Musketeers – Milady”, were shot entirely in France on an international budget of $80 million. Both films were teased by Pate with impressive promotions at Cannes. They are scheduled to release in theaters next year; The first part in April and the second in December.
They will build on the experience gained by making the films “Milady’s Origin” and “The Black Musketeer”, which will be shot in French.
The series brings together top-class French creative teams. Judith Havas (“Call My Agent!”) and Simon Jablonka (“Spiral”) are co-creating “Milady Origins.” Thomas Mansuy (“Derby Girl”) and Mathieu LeBlanc (“Les Rivieres Purpres”) are creating “The Black Musketeers” along with writers Sarah Malleon (“Sam”) and Nils-Antoine Sambuk (“En Therapy”). Both “The Black Musketeer” and “Milady’s Origins” were created by Mathieu Delaporte and Alexandre de la Patellier, who will act as show runners.
Pate and Chapter 2 are also working on an exciting project called 13 Days, 13 Nights in Kabul Hell, which is adapted from the real-life account of the fall of Kabul by Commander Mohammad Bida. It will be directed by Martin Bourbon, who helmed “The Three Musketeers” films, along with Roshdi Zem to play the lead role.
